12-Year-Old Killed by Construction Equipment in Charleston

Charleston authorities say a 12-year-old boy has died after he was run over with a piece of construction equipment. Police say the child broke into a shipping container facility in North Charleston with several friends.

The other boys, ranging from age 8 to 13, waited several hours to tell anyone what happened.

Investigators stated the children didn’t say anything about the accident until the victim’s mother urged them to talk if they knew where her son was.

Authorities say the boys were playing with top loaders Sunday evening when the victim fell from the equipment and landed under a top loader being driven by another boy.

Investigators say the boys snuck into ConGlobal Industries Sunday Night by crawling under a fence.
