Pete Strom and Bakari Sellers of The Strom Law Firm, LLC announced Wednesday that they will represent Stephen Davis (Carolina Panthers, Washington Redskins), his wife Dee Dee Davis, Corey Miller (NY Giants, Minnesota Vikings), Langston Moore (Arizona Cardinals, Detroit Lions, Cincinnati Bengals), Travis Williams (Atlanta Falcons), and Henry Taylor (Detroit Lions, Atlanta Falcons, Chicago Bears, Miami Dolphins) in a case filed on July 5, 2012 concerning  accusations that the NFL deliberately hid scientific evidence from players that linked long-term neurological damage to repetitive head impacts.

NFL Concussion Lawsuits

Lawsuits involving thousands of former football players affected by concussions and traumatic brain injuries have been merged into one master complaint against the NFL.

The lawsuit contends that the NFL exploited its players by refusing to change guidelines, despite medical evidence that multiple concussions and other traumatic brain injuries (TBI) sustained repeatedly can lead to mental illness, dementia, and even death.

Among the illnesses cited were dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.

The 88-page complaint, obtained in advance by USA TODAY, alleges that the NFL purposefully neglected traumatic brain injury issues through deception and denial, which subsequently put the league’s players at great risk.

According to an AP review of 81 lawsuits filed through May 25, the plaintiffs include 2,138 players who say the NFL did not do enough to inform them about the dangers of head injuries. In total, there are 3,356 plaintiffs, including players, spouses, and other relatives or representatives.

Bakari Sellers and Pete Strom will represent six of those plaintiffs in the national lawsuit.

The Traumatic Brain Injury Attorneys at the Strom Law Firm are currently accepting cases involving NFL head injuries.
