WLTX reported Tuesday that Budweiser of Columbia and Checker Yellow Cabs have partnered up to offer free taxi rides home for Richland and Lexington County residents on New Year’s Eve.
As part of the Annual New Year’s Eve Free Ride Home program, there will be taxi cabs running from Liberty Tap Room in the Vista and the Fountain in Five Points between 11:00 p.m. and 3:00 a.m. You can also call the number below and arrange for a tax ride, up to a $10 value, to take you to a hotel or your hom in Lexington or Richland Counties.
WLTX has provided the following instructions for taking advantage of the program:
1) Call 799-3311. You must call Checker Yellow cab prior to the ride or let the driver know you are a Budweiser Alert Cab Rider.
2) Be ready with the name of the bar, business location, or phone number of the place from which you are calling.
3) Do not bring open containers into the cab.
Remember, as we previously posted, the Department of Public Safety has initiated “Sober or Slammer” and will be out in force to prevent drunk driving.
