Lexington County Armed Robbery Criminal Charges
In 2010, Samuel Travis Wiggins broke into the home of a computer specialist who had done work for him, and stole several high-dollar items while holding the man’s wife at gun-point. On Wednesday, according to a press release from Lexington County, Wiggins pleaded guilty to Lexington County criminal charges, including home invasion burglary first degree, armed robbery, and kidnapping.
Wiggins was sentenced to 25 years in prison because of the criminal charges.
Criminal Charges for First Degree Burglary in Lexington County
The incident occurred on August 30, 2010, on the defendants’ property Founders Boulevard. The couple had installed surveillance cameras, and captured the crime on video.
Wiggins entered the home and found the co-defendant, Amanda Furr, alone in the house. Wiggins pulled a gun and ordered her to lie on the kitchen floor, while he and his cohort gathered jewelry, computers, guns, and cash. While the robbers were distracted, Furr ran to the backyard in a bid to escape, but Wiggins tackled her in the backyard and held her down until the robbery was over.
Furr said she thought she was going to be killed because she knew the robbers from her husband’s work.
Wiggins’ co-defendant is expected to plead guilty next month.
