Snoop Dogg banned from Norway for Drug Crimes

Snoop Dogg is in trouble with the law again.

This time, though, he is not in trouble with the US government, but the government of Norway.

Snoop Dogg, whose real name is Calvin Broadus, has been banned from Norway for two years after trying to enter the country with a small amount of marijuana and more cash than is legally allowed.

Upon entering Norway in June, drug dogs detected eight grams of marijuana in the rapper’s luggage. Snoop was fined 52,000 kroner or $8,600 and admitted to both offenses. Snoop is now banned from the country for two years.

Snoop Dogg’s legal representative in Norway, Holger Hagesaeter, told the Associated Press that Snoop “can live with the decision” and has no immediate plans to appeal it.

The rapper, after being detained in Kjevik Airport, went on to perform at Norway’s Hove Festival.

This is not Snoop Dogg’s first run in with the law in other countries. In 2006, Snoop and his entourage were involved in a massive brawl at London’s Heathrow Airport. Snoop was initially charged after the brawl, but was vindicated of any criminal act after surveillance footage showed police to be the aggressors.

In April of 2007, Snoop was banned from Australia because of his criminal record. Australian officers eventually reversed their decision and issued Snoop Dogg a work visa.
