Employee Gets in Fight Over Beer, Thieves Gets Away Without Richland County Criminal Charges

Richland County officers are still searching for two men who tried to steal two cases of beer, and got in a fight with the store clerk.

The incident took place on October 30th, at about 11 PM at El Cheapo on 1013 Percival Road.

The men entered El Cheapo – the first suspect took a case of Budweiser and a case of Bud Light from the cooler. He walked out of the store with the beer, and the clerk followed him. According to the surveillance footage, the suspect left the store and a few seconds later, the store employee also exited the shop. The employee grabbed the two cases of beer and began walking toward the store, when the first suspect jumped on his back and grabbed him around the neck. They struggled for a few moments, when the second man came to join the first suspect in the struggle.

The beer bottles were broken during the altercation.

The first suspect was wearing a red baseball cap, green long sleeve shirt, dark pants, and dark shoes. The second suspect was wearing a camouflage hat, camouflage jacket, and camouflage pants.
