Authorities to Announce Large S.C. Gang Arrest

Federal authorities are preparing to reveal the results from a multi-year gang investigation that focused on the Bloods street gang.

According to WIS, U.S. Attorney Bill Nettles and FBI Special Agent in Charge David Thomas are scheduled to hold a news conference in Columbia today.

The authorities are expected to unseal the 134-count racketeering indictment and announce that about 20 people are going to  be arrested.

This isn’t the first large-scale federal racketeering investigation to make headlines this summer in South Carolina. In June, 19 people affiliated with the popular motorcycle gang Hells Angels were arrested in North and South Carolina after an investigation revealed gun and drug crimes.
