Chamal Mediwaka was born and raised in the beautiful island of Sri Lanka where he attended high school at Trinity College, Kandy. He was awarded a full scholarship to attend Berea College, Kentucky where he received his BA in Economics and two minors in Political Science, and Peace and Social Justice. He was the first Berea College student to be inducted into the Pinnacle, The National Honor Society for “highest achievement of academic performance and out-of-class accomplishments.”
As a recipient of the UPS Global Scholarship, Chamal earned his Master of International Business degree from the Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina, becoming the 1st Sri Lankan to graduate from the program. He was a member of the Cycling club, Triathlon club, and the International Student Association during his time as a graduate student at the University of South Carolina.
Chamal serves on the board of directors for multiple local and international nonprofits that primarily focuses on marketing, community service, youth leadership, reconciliation, and mental health awareness.
