Irmo Drug Bust Leads to Three Arrests, $39,000 in Marijuana

According to WLTX, Irmo Police seized more than $39,000.00 in marijuana Thursday night.

Irmo Police arrested 18 year old Trae Barnes of North Royal Tower Drive and conducted a search leading police to seize a 9 mm gun with several rounds of .40 caliber and .22 caliber ammunition. Barnes is charged with simple possession of marijuana.

Irmo Police also arrested 27-year-old Justin Keilty and 38-year-old Laurie Ann Mathis, both of Tekesbury Court in Irmo. Officers conducting a search of the home on Tekesbury Court found 11 marijuana plants, 7.8 pounds of marijuana in zipper bags, fertilizer, lights, and $6,000.00 in cash. Keilty and Mathis are charged with manufacturing marijuana.

According to the United States Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) marijuana is the most commonly used illegal drug in South Carolina.

Barnes, Mathis, and Keilty are innocent until proven guilty.
