Brett Favre is now being blitzed for sexual harassment. Christina Scavo and Shannon O’Toole, former New York Jets massage therapists, have filed charges against the current Minnesota Vikings quarterback. Scavo, in her statement, said that Favre, who was then quarterback for the New York Jets, propositioned her to have sex with him and another unnamed therapist.
According to WLTX.com, in the court documents, it was alleged that Favre had sent text messages to Scavo and the unnamed co-worker that indicated that he wanted to “get together” with the two women. In another text, Favre said, “Kinda lonely tonight, I guess I have bad intentions”. Another message read, “Brett here, you and crissy want to get together im all alone”.
The suit further alleges that Scavo rebuffed the alleged solicitation of the quarterback. Scavo’s husband even asked for an apology, which Favre refused. Since that incident, both alleged that they were not rehired by the Jets training staff.
Also included in the sexual harassment suit are the two women’s former supervisor, Lisa Ripi and the New York Jets organization. The suit includes a statement made by Ripi, the Jets massage therapist coordinator, by phone saying “Chrissy and you will never work for the Jets again.”
This is but one of the many issues now plaguing the beleaguered quarterback. His performance with the Minnesota Vikings has been criticized by many. In response, Favre said that at the end of the season he would be hanging up his cleats. Another firestorm brewing are the allegations made by former NY Jets sideline reporter Jenny Sterger that back in 2008, Favre sent her inappropriate photos and voicemail on her cell phone.
To this claim by Sterger, Favre admits to have left voicemails but vehemently denies sending photos to the woman. He did not however participate in a NFL inquiry on the matter that resulted in the imposition of a $50,000 fine, not for his inappropriate behavior but for his refusal to cooperate with the investigation.
