Since starting with the Strom Law Firm, Jessica has focused her practice on catastrophic personal injury, business litigation, mass torts, and complex and class action practice, and has represented individuals and families in a wide range of cases including wrongful death, premises liability, and products’ liability litigation. In her daily practice she strives to provide compassionate and diligent representation for her clients, and has successfully litigated cases against numerous corporate defendants, from healthcare corporations, and trucking companies, to former fortune 500 companies.
Prior to joining the Strom Law Firm team, Jessica clerked for Circuit Court Judge J. Cordell Maddox, Jr., in Anderson, South Carolina. She received her undergraduate degree from Mercer University in Macon, Georgia, and her law degree from the University of South Carolina.
Jessica is admitted to the South Carolina bar, as well as the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina, and the United States Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit. She has previously been admitted pro hac vice to, and successfully represented clients in Georgia and the Southern District of West Virginia. Jessica is a member of the American Association for Justice, South Carolina Association for Justice, the South Carolina Bar Association, the Richland County Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the South Carolina Women Lawyers Association. In 2019, Jessica was selected as a Super Lawyers Rising Star.
Jessica serves on the board of Girls on the Run Columbia, and is married to fellow lawyer, James E.L. Fickling, who also practices in South Carolina.
